How is your weight a problem for you?

When something is really important to you, you’ll move mountains.

You know you need to lose weight.

You would really love to get back the body you used to have.

And yet, something is stopping you. You keep putting it off.

If you simultaneously feel positive and negative about weight loss, it keeps you undecided, like you are on a mental see-saw. Know that it’s possible to move toward action despite self-doubt. Let’s discover your core reasons and build a strong case for moving forward with weight loss.

Today you’ll start with a crucial part of figuring out what is truly important to you about it.

To go through the trouble of changing your habits and behaviors, you first need to figure out how your current weight is limiting you. There are certain things you don’t like about it, things you don’t want. There is something about this excess weight that frustrates you.

When you compile the evidence of how your weight is not letting you be who you want to be and live your life to the fullest, it makes the need to change so much more important.

write it all down

That's right. You need to take a piece of paper or a notebook and start writing about things you don't like and don't want about your current weight. Give yourself five minutes, then return to the article.
Please save the paper or notebook you'll need it for the last part of the course.

Go one step further

The emotion of frustration tells you that you are kept away from or unable to achieve something. Look at your list of frustrations related to your weight and ask yourself, what am I not able to achieve? Or What does it keep me away from? For example: When I put on my jeans, I’m frustrated to see how my love handles hang over the waistband. My love handles don’t let me achieve the fit (slim, attractive, like-I-was-before-kids, or sexy) look I want, and more importantly, they keep me away from feeling confident about my body. Now it's your turn to write.

All right, great work!
