I’m a licensed nutritionist in Maryland and Washington, DC. However, I’m an out-of-network provider for all insurance companies. Depending on your health insurance plan, you may receive partial or full reimbursement for nutrition counseling. After each session, I’ll provide you with a Superbill so you can submit it to your insurance.
To get more information on insurance reimbursement for nutrition services, please call your insurance company. I recommend you ask them the following questions:
- Do I have out-of-network coverage? If yes, continue with the rest of the questions.
- What is my annual out-of-network deductible, and when does it reset?
- How much do I still need to pay to meet the deductible this year?
- Does my plan cover medical Nutrition Therapy (CPT 97803 and 97802)?
- How many visits can I have in the contract year? When does the contract year start?
- Do I need a medical necessity to be reimbursed for a nutrition service? In other words, are the nutrition services benefits in my plan limited to certain ICD-10 (diagnosis) codes? Which ones?
- How do I submit a superbill for insurance reimbursement?
Be sure to record the date/time of the call, as well as the call reference number. Insurance reimbursement for nutrition services can be very easy after you’ve done it once!
Nutrition services rates and payment options
- 20-minute discovery call -free
- Initial Nutrition Consultation -$240.00
- Follow-up session – $165
- 3-session Initial package, including initial and two follow-up visits – $499.00
- 3-session Follow-up package – $450
- 5-session Follow-up visits package – $660
- 1 and 3-month Membership programs for established clients for $220 and $600, respectively
Full payment for the session or package is due before your appointment.
I prefer payments via Zelle. However, you can use your HSA, credit, and debit cards as payment methods. A 3% processing fee will be added to the service amount.
If you cannot attend a session, please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be responsible for 50% of the session fee. No-show is charged at the full price of the session.
